Approximately eighteen months ago, when I begun my venture into social media, I vowed to focus on beauty, fashion, luxury and travel. I am not political person and normally refrain from discussing my personal life. As a result, these faucets of my life have been absent from my social media. Don’t worry, Lord now’s I have no intentions of changing my focus and Mr. Jan All In One will continue to bring the best social media content in the world of beauty, fashion, luxury and travel.
That said, last week I had the opportunity to meet Nina Vaca, Chief Executive Officer Of Pinnacle Technical Resources, at a private reception she hosted in Dallas, Texas. As the SK-II National Skin Care Ambassador, I was asked to attend the event and give a short presentation on my beloved SK-II products. My colleagues and I were welcomed with open arms by Nina and her friends. Most importantly, getting to know Nina, her plight to success and her love for people, was so inspiring.
I am from Taipei, Taiwan, raised in a family where there was a roller-coaster of success and failure. When I came to the United States I could not speak any English, kids made fun of me in school, sometimes I would cry and yearn for my life in Asia. However, through all this adversity, I stayed on my feet. I finished school, went on to the Fashion Design Institute in Los Angeles, got my degree, and started my career in retail. Working hard to improve myself has opened many doors of opportunity including my current position with SK-II.
Meeting Nina has opened a new chapter in my life. Like her, I hope that I can be an inspiration to those who think they are held back from success due to ethnicity, sexual orientation, disabilities and other personal hurdles.
Nina, thank you again for a very successful event and your inspiration in my life.
