Key charms have been very popular in the past few years and Fendi’s monster was the leader of this trend. Last February, super model Cara Delevingne opened the Fendi show with Karlito, which was a personal gift from creative director, Sylvia Venturini Fendi, to designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Ever since the show, Karlito became a huge demand. This super cute Karlito was sold out within a few days. I was lucky enough to get one of the famous Karlito in December and here is my review.
First impression: The Fendi Box. This was my second purchase from Fendi and I was not impressed with their box. It sounds silly but when you purchase these luxury items every detail counts from the tissues, box, ribbon to the handle of the bag. However, this box does have Karl’s autograph.
Second impression: After I opened the box, the Karlito was wrapped in plain tissue paper. It looked very sad. Honestly, I feel disappointed with the presentation. I was hoping Fendi will offer a stand to house Karlito. The box also included a dust bag too.
The Karlito key charm looks super cute! I love how Fendi used three (3) different types of fur to create this; the black mink is used for the sunglasses, sliver fox fur for the body and white goat fur for the hair. The Karlito looks just like mini Karl Lagerfeld. His signature black sunglasses, high collar with a black tie and, of course, the ponytail. I think I will only bring Karlito to special events. He will stay in my walk-in closet inside a museum case. The Karlito took the fashion industry by storm! I hear Fendi is planning to make a super mini Karlito in spring 2015. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed!
