I recently saw the movie Pompeii, and it was pretty darn good. This movie was particularly interesting to me because in 2012 I went on a two week vacation to the Mediterranean which included a trip while in Naples, Italy to the ancient city of Pompeii. Trust me when I say, I am not easily impressed, so as we made our way down to Pompeii I prepared myself for just another tourist trap and a few ancient ruins. When we arrived in Pompeii, I was left speechless by the awesome size of the place … Pompeii was not only fascinating, it was huge! We walked for two or three hours through the ancient ruins, never repeating our steps. Pompeii was nothing less than amazing.
I am not a big scholar of history, and frankly, I am not normally interested in ancient ruins, but Pompeii had me captivated. There was something interesting everywhere you looked. The way the citizens of Pompeii cooked, the difference in housing between the very wealthy and the poor, the way they shopped and traded, and the rather seedy side of Pompeii (brothels, taverns, etc) that would make modern day Las Vegas look like an entry level adult playground. Pompeii was definitely the ultimate place for indulgence.
Anticipating the release of the movie, I began to think about how the women, and men for that matter, managed beauty. Remember, this was a city obsessed with indulging in every pleasure of the flesh know to mankind, so they had to look beautiful. So, I did some research and put together a brand new video called “Beauty Secrets Of Pompeii”. I hope that you enjoy it.
